This holographic display offers more than 2.5 billion pixels and will offer you objects so real you will think they are right there.
Still the holographic technology that we know today is very far from sight in science fiction series or movies, something that could end in view of the advances presented by the Silicon Valley startup called Light Field Lab which has something to offer us about it in the form of very realistic holographic objects.
Thanks to your screen called SolidLight It is capable of projecting a solid object without using any type of external mechanism or optical illusions, making only use of light waves that interact at a precise point in physical space and that humans can end up detecting.
“SolidLight is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. Only after you get closer to touch a SolidLight object will you realize that it’s not actually there“, it states Jon karafin, CEO of Light Field Lab.
But of course, this panel has a lot of pixels. Specifically, the holographic screen of Light Field Lab is 28 inches and has 2.5 billion pixels. For comparison, that’s more than 300 times the 8.2 million pixels on a 4K television.
On the other hand, the panels are modular, so they can be joined to create huge wall displays with 10 billion pixels per meter.
They can also be combined with other technologies such as hand tracking and gesture recognition to even be used in different commercial and entertainment settings.
Light Field Lab was founded in 2017 and is financially backed by different venture capital branches of companies such as Samsung, Verizon, Comcast or Bosch.
