If you thought you had seen and lived it all, wait until you know this Israeli war tank that is inspired by the Xbox controls and Call of Duty.
The arms industry goes hand in hand with technology and there is no doubt about that, but did you ever imagine that it could be combined with video games?
As if we were experiencing an episode of Black Mirror, Israel has found in the games a niche of opportunity to evolve and continue developing combat vehicles.
The army of this country is developing a war tank oriented towards adolescents, which uses an Xbox controller, in addition to having an interface like that of Call of Duty.
The tank, whose name is Carmel, is still in a prototype stage, but almost all its functions are controlled through an Xbox controller so that young people between 18 and 21 can become familiar.
Thus, the Israel Defense Forces seeks to make the learning curve as simple as possible. To accomplish this, the engineers behind the tank listened to feedback from those who play shooters to get a better idea of how to optimize the controls.
In the Carmel cabin, there are a couple of touch screens to visualize the environment due to the absence of windows like in any tank, but the difference lies in its operation.
Udi Tzur, commander of the Israel Defense Forces, pointed out that the youth only spent 4 hours testing this simulator thanks to this system since they knew exactly the position of the buttons.
Call of Duty inspired interface
But the hardware was not the only thing, but the interface of the tank also shows relevant information in the style of Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty.
Elements such as the map, the ammunition indicator and the mission objectives are shown just as it happens in the most famous shooters of the moment and this is how a practically identical experience has been achieved, but with real weapons.
There is no doubt that the future is now.
