Little by little the electric car continues to break down barriers for the average user. If before it was only contemplated as a vehicle for large cities where to carry out a night charge every day, the arrival of new models and the greater range of kilometers of its batteries is causing our vision of the electricity market to be changing little by little.
They are mobile chargers that are available to everyone
However, there are still some problems related to their autonomy that are the clearest in the form of obstacles to their access. For this reason, and to zoom in and see it a little more precisely, we have new additions as systems that have the purpose of making it possible. We are talking about Rodie in this case.
We are talking about a portable charging system, Roadie, for the electric car. And it is that, although little by little they are emerging, in Spain we still have a little presence of stations charge, which is the main reason why the electrified ones have not been massively adopted. This is where the SparkCharge business comes to life.
This is a company founded in 2017 that has taken the initiative to build mobile chargers that can be available to users when they need it. Best of all, beyond its portability, this Rodie is a system that, according to its ads, is compatible with all chargers of this type of vehicle.
How does it work
The truth is that, at present, the innovations introduced in electrical matters have reduced waiting times, but even so it takes at least half an hour of plug. Not to mention its corresponding limited autonomy! Given this, the charge for the electric of Roadie and his company SparkCharge complies in the most efficient way.
As the company explains, this is a battery equipment It has its own plug to connect to the current of the vehicle in question. The service, therefore, consists of assisting the user of an electric car that has been left without autonomy and does not have a charging station accessible.
Previously it was common to see what are known as battery ‘trailers’, where a large system was incorporated into the car to carry out the charge. Now that has been left behind to have a structure similar to a storage tank. The process is simple: under the BoostEV application, the device will be connected with the activated location, especially in case of needing further assistance.
Once connected, the electric car will be able to charge the Roadie for later plugging in. As we see in the image, its size is enough to be transported and placed in a small cabin. Even to carry it in the vehicle (depending on its dimensions).
Brands integrate it as one more complement
This can be a real possibility for placement and transport in the vehicle. It is true that, initially, it may not be so accessible to move it from one place to another, especially if the car is small. But what this charging system would do for Roadie’s electric is have the possibility of presenting itself for those who have a second house, in which it has a plug and where you need to charge the car to start your trip again.
At the same time, there are already some brands and manufacturers that are starting to integrate it at the time of purchase. In fact, there are some that are beginning to collaborate with them, such as Nio’s china (and it is expected that Tesla too). Even Nio herself completes it for the user as a complement more of the car itself.
