Spain is one of the countries with the largest number of green areas and spectacular parks. And Seville is one of the most beautiful destinations to visit and enjoy a unique weekend. Precisely in this city is one of the most beautiful parks in the world: the Maria Luisa Park.
An investigation by the company House Fresh has collected reviews posted by tourists on Tripadvisor, and with them he has drawn up a list to choose from the highest rated public garden in each country. And María Luisa’s is number 28 out of a total of 1,000.
Walking through landscaped areas, through a park surrounded by plants, flowers, fountains, monuments and ponds is always a good experience. If you visit Seville, you cannot miss its most precious green space: the Maria Luisa Park where you will find this and much more in their 340,000 m².
It is the most famous in Seville, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, and one of the city’s green lungs. Formerly they were private gardens of the Palace of San Telmo, and were donated in 1893 by the Infanta María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón (Duchess of Montpensier) to the city. They were renovated by the French engineer Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, conservator of the Boulogne forest in Paris, who gave it a romantic touch, inspired by the gardens of the Generalife, the Alhambra and the Alcázares of Seville.
Inside the park, the Plaza de América and its spectacular Spain Square, one of the beautiful ones in the city and in Spain, where the Dior fashion show is going to be held in a few days. Both made for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. Its fountains with arabesque touches, benches and gazebos, ideal for resting or simply sitting down to unwind. In addition, inside it houses two beautiful Mudejar-style buildings that contain the Archaeological Museum of Seville, which houses a replica of the famous Carambolo treasure, and the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs. A visit that you cannot miss if you decide to enjoy one of the most charming cities.
