Cádiz is synonymous with some of the best beaches in Spain. Even for those people who want to cool off but have a hard time with the sand. And it is that, in the Natural Park of the Sierra de Grazalema (in the recreational area of Arroyomolinos, in the municipality of Zahara de la Sierra) is located what is popularly known as “the little beach”. A spectacular corner, free of sand and the east wind.
In the foothills of the Monte Prieto mountain range, very close to the Zahara-El Gastor reservoir and, even more, of the Cueva del Susto is this atificial Beach that takes advantage of the natural course of the Arroyomolinos river and that is available for bathing during the summer.
An authentic beach in the mountains, to escape the heat and spend a different day of excursion to one of the most beautiful places in Andalusia. Between orchards, fruit trees and large peaks (such as Puerto de Las Palomas, El Boyar or El Torreón), more than 60,000 square meters of bathroomrelaxation and fun in nature.
The beach of Zahara de la Sierra
The water in this area is constantly treated and monitored by lifeguards specializing in first aid, so the only thing to keep in mind is that it is fresh water from a mountain river. For the rest, it does not lack detail and the area has a lot of shade offered by fruit trees, walnut trees and poplars.
It even has free guarded parking, beach bar and restaurant. This is managed by the Zaharilla Women’s Association and its menu is a sample of the rich native cuisine: gapazcho, baked fish, salads, stews, paellas… Of course, by reservation.
But that’s not all, this inland beach is a dream that the little ones don’t forget and includes zip line service and a series of installations in the trees in which one travels through suspension bridges and suspended ladders (what is known as “arborism”).

However, these adventures are not included in the general admission to the beach.
