According to President López Obrador in his morning press conference on Tuesday, November 21, the Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto airport in Quintana Roo will be inaugurated on December 1st; and from the images spread on social networks, the work is practically ready.
Likewise, the president mentioned that on the day of the inauguration, he will fly from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, located in the State of Mexico, to the new air terminal of this tourist destination in the Riviera Maya.
Details of the Tulum International Airport
The work is located 19 kilometers from the city of Tulum on a property of 1,500 hectares and seeks to trigger the construction of a commercial and services corridor on federal highway 307.
Likewise, it will have 13 spaces for commercial aircraft and a 3,700-meter-long landing strip.

Connections of the work
According to the authorities’ forecasts, the airfield will transport more than five million national and international passengers, connecting five national destinations: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Tijuana.
In addition, it will have connections with North American cities such as Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Houston, among others.
Likewise, the work will have a Mayan Train station, to add two to the city of Tulum.
Tulum Airport, the fourth in Quintana Roo
Finally, with this new work, Quintana Roo becomes the state with the largest number of airports in the country, adding Tulum to the international airports of Cancún, built in 1974, Cozumel, inaugurated in 1943 and Chetumal, which also opened its doors in 1974.
