Despite all the criticism that has revolved around Artificial Intelligence, it continues to be one of the technological advances that has most captured the attention of the world and of science in our times. That is why those who are close to this field and study it, increasingly try to make new creations through these new algorithms. Thus, a group of researchers are carrying out a project that consists of creating a village of ‘bots’, where it is governed by the artificial intelligence.
They are experts and scholars of Google and Stanford Universitywho have created the first virtual village governed solely by this software.
It consists of 25 ‘bots’ who are praises that inhabit this digital village. As they made known through the article they wrote, the goal is to see to what extent they could imitate human behavior.
According to those leading this investigation, the results are “surprising.” They don’t see AI as a threat to the world at the moment, so they have shown that there is signs of autonomy when doing things in a group.
The researchers gave as an example the fact that they asked one of the bots to organize Valentine’s Day. This resulted in eitherOther bots will participate on their own in planning, decorating, distributing invitations and expanding their circle of friends, as if it were a social network.
They have also devoted themselves to mount an election that include division of opinions on the candidates, electoral proposals, as a way of creating their own democracy.
One of the doubts that arises is that who knows if in the future, after striking down Google and Amazon, the AIs will not kill our politicians and establish a regime where they decide that we are expendable. That is why people who question the industry ask governments for regulations.
