In 2021, Apple had one billion iPhone users.
There are 1.65 billion active iPhone devices worldwide.
In 2021, the company earned approximately $71.6 billion from the sale of iPhones.
Companies continue to bet on all the technology and experience they can offer their users. One of these is Apple, which is ready to launch mixed reality headsets on the market and they will arrive at the cost of 3 thousand dollars each.
According to data published in its annual report, the Americas is Apple’s largest regional market, with net sales of US$51.5 billion in the first quarter of the company’s fiscal year 2022.
Likewise, the report presented by the technology company indicates that Europe and China are two other important markets for Apple, with revenues above 25 billion dollars.
Apple Mixed Reality Headset
This Thursday it was announced that the price of Apple’s mixed reality headphones costs three times more than those of its rival Meta.
To date, it was indicated that the high-tech specifications of this product will also be revealed by Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference to be held on June 5, Bloomberg reported.
This launch comes after Meta will launch a so-called “portal to the enterprise metaverse” in October 2022. Dubbed the Meta Quest Pro, the mixed-reality headset retailed for $1,500, but Mark Zuckerberg’s company slashed the price. to $1,000 months after launch.
Apple’s high-priced headphones, which have taken seven years to make, have emerged as a far cry from Cook’s initial vision of sleek glasses designed for all-day wear, similar to prescription specs, and instead they resemble ski goggles.
By wearing the glasses, gamers will be able to experience virtual reality and the physical world simultaneously, the company said. It will be powered by a separate iPhone-sized battery that will connect to the glasses with a power cord.
Apple reportedly wanted the battery to be integrated into the headphones, but scrapped the idea to reduce the device’s weight and prevent it from overheating, Bloomberg explained.
Also, the first-generation product is reportedly still in an experimental mode, with Apple expecting a slower adoption rate compared to wearables like its ultra-popular Apple Watch. And it is expected to be sold under the name Reality.
The company anticipates that the eventual adaptation of the product could add more than 25 billion dollars to Apple’s annual revenue.
It’s worth adding that the iPhone maker has invested billions of dollars to develop the headphones throughout the seven-year production process, but the project doesn’t have the unanimous support of the company’s top brass.
