Influencer gives a table of rates so that professionals can be guided when charging for their services.
The average monthly salary offered to a CM by companies is very low in Mexico.
Community manager work is more valued monetarily in other countries.
In a digitalized era, brands must have a presence on the internet and especially on social networks, so the expert profile of whoever generates this interaction with the audience is the one that, from a few years to now, has gained prominence. The community manager plays the role of transformation, at least of what the consumer sees in real time, but… how much should he charge?
What does a Community Manager do?
This professional can no longer be lacking in the industry, since he is in charge of building and managing the online community between the brand and the client; His goal is to communicate and energize the company’s values, and provide a human approach to anyone interested in its operations.
However, despite how easy this task may seem, a qualified professional must have specific skills to generate and promote marketing strategies, grow the digital audience and manage crisis situations, anticipating reputation problems.
Another task that a Community Manager must carry out is to manage and create contentusing tools that help better identify target users and track their steps in the web ecosystem, as well as market trends that change day by day with opportunities for conversation and positioning.
How much should you charge?
In Mexico, the average salary that can be found for audience professionals on the internet and social networks ranges between 9,000 and 15,000 pesos per month; however, there are many vacancies where they do not value the work and responsibility that this professional must assume in the sector and offers of 5 thousand pesos per month predominate, according to years of experience.
In European countries, for example, this job profile is more recognized by brands and has average salaries of between 18 and 25 thousand euros gross per year, (about 405 thousand 028 Mexican pesos), that is, about 33 thousand Mexican pesos a month. While in the United States, the average expert salary is 2,000 dollars, just over 40,000 pesos per month.
The salary usually varies not only by years of experience, but also by the company and location where it is located.
Freelance CM fees
A tiktoker has made a reference list of activities and prices that a Community Manager should follow, in order to support Mexican professionals and teach them how to charge for their work.
According to the user @davegaona, the professional must base himself, first of all, on the type of client for which digital strategies will be handled: Micro-SMEs, SME-Startup, medium and large companies.
The price reference offered by the tiktoker will depend on the credentials, experience and business rank in which they compete for a vacancy.
Example of SMEs in Mexican pesos:
- Community Management, account management only – $3,500 to $12,000
- Design, shooting, video production (per project) – $10,000 to $20,000
- Content Marketing (content grids) – $5,000 to $15,000
- Media implementation (FB, IG, Google, etc.) – $3,500 or by percentage of the amount invested by the brand
- Ads strategy and planning (campaign optimization) – 4,000 to $8,000
- Comprehensive campaign strategy – $10,000 to $20,000
