The Government of Spain has launched a new portal to consult the Air Quality Index: we show you how it works.
What the quality of the air we breathe matters more and more to people It is a fact today, you just have to see how in recent years the sales of air purifiers that help filter said air have skyrocketed. And, with this, the concerns of the different governments have also increased.
Specifically, from the Government of Spain they have adopted a new measure that can be very interesting when it comes to knowing the quality of the air that is breathed in different cities of the country. It is a new online tool, thanks to which you will be able to consult both the historical data of the Air Quality Index (ICA), as well as the forecasts until a day ahead.

As we mentioned, from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge have launched a new website to which you can access for free and in which the data related to the quality of the air of the whole country is shown by means of a map. The data in question is shown from the network’s air quality measurement stations, and allows one to get an idea of how polluted the air is in a given area.
The way to use the new web page is quite intuitive: in the central part we find a map based on Google technology, showing the different measurement stations enabled for service. They are marked with different colors depending on their index, as described by means of the legend.
Using the controls at the top left of the page, it is also possible to obtain the ICA Expected for the next day, something that can be very useful in some cases. AND, If you want more information, just click on the map at one of the points displayed. Automatically a small tab will be displayed in which you can consult the locality in which the station is located, as well as the different data from which the index will have been determined.
Also, in order to display data as accurate as possible, Only those plants capable of measuring the levels of ozone, nitrogen dioxide or any of the suspended particles (PM10 or PM2.5) will be shown on the map. present in the air, as they are the three main pollutants. From here, the worst indicators are assigned to the worst levels of any of the 3 pollutants mentioned, something that is directly reflected on the index.
Thanks to the different measurements made by the stations, The website also allows you to view the Air Quality Index Forecast for the following day in advance. In this way, it is easy to alert administrators to try to prevent possible episodes of high pollution in the air.
