Last August 10 was one of the great days for Xiaomi with the launch of different important products for the Chinese firm. Specifically, the two great novelties were the new Xiaomi Mix 4 and the new Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro, two devices that came with new versions of the MIUI customization layer.
In detail, along with the Mix 4 MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition was presented which we have already talked about, and with the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 we saw the so-called MIUI for Pad appear, a customization layer adapted to the 11-inch panel of the tablet and that will help us to have a much more complete experience with the system.
MIUI for tablets direct to iPad OS
This new Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 not only means the company’s return to the Android tablet market, but also, in order to compete with other specific systems for this type of device such as iPad OS, Xiaomi has decided to divide MIUI into two aspects: MIUI for smartphone and MIUI for Pad for tablets.
It is true that not much data has been given about this new system, but they have made it clear that It is designed to take full advantage of the 11-inch panel with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz with which the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has been presented.
On an aesthetic level, we have been able to see how Xiaomi has chosen to design a desktop adapted to this panel and in a very similar way to how iPad OS does it, that is, Apps arranged along the screen with a shortcut drawer at the bottom of the screen.
But without any doubt, One of the great novelties of this system is the multitasking that it is capable of offering. In a simple way, we can run applications simultaneously on a split screen, something that will help us greatly to increase the productivity that this system is capable of offering us.
Of course, MIUI for Pad will be optimized for use together with the stylus and keyboard with which the Mi Pad 5 was presented, functionalities that will grow as the brand itself develops different applications and uses of these accessories.
At the moment, this new Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be reserved only for the Chinese market, waiting to know more information about a possible global launch. Therefore, we will have to be patient to be able to try all the news of this new version of MIUI adapted to tablets since, at least for the moment, the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro are the only products that will integrate this system of native way.
