With the heat waves that we are experiencing even before the arrival of summer, the debate on the need to revegetate cities and increase the green area to lower the temperature has jumped to the fore. Squares with more trees, green roofs on the roofs of buildings, public transport shelters… Everything is to lower the temperature to some degree, beyond using portable air conditioners or sail awnings.
And for that, we loved this 100% sustainable prefabricated house which has a plant cover that helps to lower the temperature, and incidentally, manages to integrate it perfectly into the landscape without causing hardly any impact. This prefabricated house has been designed by the Barcelona studio ON-A.
Together with the green of the vegetation that covers the house, and which allows energy consumption to be reduced, the presence of wood stands out in the design. A material that, in addition to giving a touch of warmth, comes from sustainable forests. In addition, the house incorporates photovoltaic panels to produce electrical energy.
As far as the roof is concerned, the house is equipped with sensors that allow knowing how the plants are. In addition, it is important to know that the vegetation that covers it is resistant and hardly needs care. In order for the house to be 100% sustainable and Zero Emissions, the Barcelona studio even analyzes the climatic conditions and orientation. Also, the house has water recovery systems to reuse in irrigation and toilets.
How is the interior of this prefabricated house
Inside, the house is spacious and bright, with interconnected open spaces. The large glass windows not only allow the house to be full of light, but also integrate the house even more with nature by allowing you to enjoy the outside from the rooms that make up the house.
The house revolves around a large multifunctional space that brings together the kitchen, and living and dining areas, with design elements such as a hanging fireplace. Depending on the number of square meters, and the rooms, the price of this modular home changes.
The smallest model has 70 m² and two rooms, and is for sale from 195,000 euros. The intermediate model has 100 m², three rooms and is for sale from 245,000 euros. The third and last model available has 130 m² and four rooms, and costs from 310,000 euros.
