There is little left to buy in Spain a very special scooter manufactured by Striemo, the micromobility subsidiary launched by the car manufacturer Honda. Do not miss the qualities of this original and sophisticated electrical device.
There are already several car brands that have been encouraged to enter a clearly booming sector such as electric scooters and bicycles. Renault recently presented its new electric scooter and now Honda confirms that it will sell its own in Europe.
And it’s not just any scooter. Moreover, it is one of the most innovative that can be found on the market. Has been created by Striemothe subsidiary company of Honda for micromobility which, until now, only sells its products in Japan.
Three wheels and tilt
What prevails in this Honda electric scooter is to provide stability and safety to the user. To achieve this, it has three wheels, two of them at the rear.
In addition, it incorporates a platform that is wider than normal and, to top it off, a tilting system that makes the incorporation of that third wheel viable. How do you get it? Through a articulated chassis whose front half can tilt up to 45 degrees in the turns.
This allows the Honda electric scooter to turn very easily and have an extremely low center of gravity. All this means that the user practically only has to deal with steering the scooter, since this is able to stand on its ownboth while stationary and in motion.
Price and date of sale
Of course, so much sophistication has a drawback, that the scooter weighs 20 kilograms and, although it is foldable, it is more inconvenient to transport than conventional two-wheel models. Honda is aware of this and, in order to alleviate this limitation, has incorporated a handle.
But what about its technical characteristics? You have to know that it mounts an electric motor integrated in the handlebar mast to offer greater freedom on the platform, which offers up to 30 kilometers of autonomy and that its speed is limited to 25 km/h to comply with European regulations. In addition, it has three programmed modes of use and takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge.
And what about its price? Well, as you surely expected, it is not cheap. Its price in Japan is just under 2000 euros to change, but its price for Spain has not yet been revealed. That yes, we know that it will begin to be sold in our country in 2023. What do you think?
