Can’t spend a lot of money on a smartphone and search the entry range? Although there are very expensive devices on the market that exceed 1,000 euros/dollars, there are also cheap terminals that are around 100 euros/dollars. Today it’s time to talk about the cheapest Samsung mobile phone that the company has manufactured. It’s not official yet, but the feature and design leak lets us know it’s going to be incredibly affordable. It goes by the name of Samsung Galaxy A01 Core and is a more modest version of the cheap terminal that was introduced last year.
What we know about the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core
Evan Blass has finished confirming the existence of this device after spending weeks knowing its list of features. The filter has published an image of the terminal in which its design is perfectly shown. It is not necessary to know what it will have inside to know that it is a fairly austere and cheap device. It does not follow any of the current design lines, confirming that it will be very economical.
The Galaxy A01 had a double rear camera, something that we no longer see in this new Galaxy A01 Core. The surname that Samsung has included in the name refers to a more modest version of the terminal. Your interior hardware? It is quite modest, although it could be accompanied by an interesting ally.
No details of its screen, battery or camera have been leaked, but the most important thing in this terminal: the processor. The chip that mounts is the same that we see in the Nokia 1 Plus presented more than a year ago. It is a MediaTek MT6739 with 4 cores at 1.5 GHz. Yes, it is a very modest processor with which you can do few things. It comes with 1 GB of RAM.
What can be done with a mobile phone with these characteristics?
It is the same internal hardware that includes the Nokia 1 Plus, a mobile that we were testing at MWC 2019 and of which we published an interesting post. In its day we talked about what could be done with a 99 euros/dollars mobile like the Nokia 1 Plus.
With this Galaxy A01 Core, you can do almost the same because they are very similar in performance phones. Of course, it all depends on what software Samsung chooses for your device. Android One is the only viable option for mobile with that hardware. Including the same processor and RAM as the Nokia terminal makes us think that it will indeed come with Android One.
