We continue touring the most special corners of our geography, such as this small town in Córdoba with just over 4,000 inhabitants, which is a real gem to discover and has the name of Iznajar.
Iznájar is a town located in the southern end of the province of Córdoba, in the heart of Andalusia and yes, it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
In that adjective it has a lot to do with being nestled on top of a hill and surrounded by the waters of the reservoir that bears his name, making this town a privileged enclave for its natural, cultural and heritage wealth and that makes it an ideal place to visit both in summer and winter.
What to see in Iznájar?
Yes, Iznájar is loaded with the most special corners, among which we can highlight is the castle that bears his name, which is located in the highest part of the Barrio de La Villa and has become the symbol of the municipality. It is of Arab origin dating from the 8th century called Hisn Ashar and has been declared Well of cultural interest, so it cannot be missing on our route.
Another essential point is Iznájar reservoir, which is the largest reservoir in Andalusia with more than 100 km of shore and that becomes another place that is worth visiting not only for its views but also for all the activities that we can do in it, especially in summer that range from paddle surfing to the sail, passing through the kayak.
In addition, we can go accompanied by our pets because its beaches also allow dogs.

And then, beyond other outstanding monuments such as the Church of Santiago Renaissance style, the Tower of San Rafael, the House of Columns wave square dedicated to Rafael Albertiits streets, patios and corners full of flowers (like the The Courtyard of Comedies which is the most visited) that offer us a beautiful show where we can let ourselves be absorbed by the spirit of this Cordovan town that exudes culture and history and a completely remarkable beauty and that, in addition, is surrounded by nearby villages that will make our trip complete even more if possible.
