In the style of Bridgerton, the Netflix series, the songs “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Gasolina” by Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee respectively were recreated.
With this “tuned”, the songs now sound in their version of classical music, as if they were part of that series.
Reggaeton is one of the genres -along with K-pop- with the greatest appeal among young people.
On TikTok, a user created the reggaeton hits “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Gasolina”, by Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee respectively, in the style of Bridgerton, the popular Netflix series.
There is no doubt that reggaeton stopped being a fad (a long time ago) and became the most important musical genre in various parts of the world, including Mexico.
Data from Statista reflects this, since 2020, the year of the pandemic, was almost exclusive to reggaeton and K-pop, two of the genres that have most conquered the new generations, with Bad Bunny and BTS at the helm.
Last year, the Puerto Rican Bad Bunny was the most listened to artist on Spotify, while, since 2020, on YouTube there is an interesting battle between reggaeton and K-pop, with BTS and Bad Bunny himself leading the list of videos with the most views on the Google platform.
Let’s also remember the iconic case of “Despacito”, by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, which, for a considerable time, was positioned as the most viewed video in the history of YouTube.
In case something was missing, this year, both the performers of “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Gasolina”, Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee respectively, will perform in Mexicoeach one is its own tour, with tickets almost sold out, which speaks of the great scope that the urban genre has had in recent years.
They create a ‘Bridgerton’ version of “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Gasolina”
Now, something almost unthinkable is happening on TikTok and that is, a user decided to create the versions of these themes and adapt them to the Netflix series, Bidgertona period story in which eight brothers from the powerful Bridgerton family try to find love and happiness in London’s high society.
The series is one of the ones that has attracted the most attention from subscribers and, in short, we are talking about one of the most creative stories on the platform. So, taking into account the popularity of the series and reggaeton, the tiktoker in question decided to unite both entities.
In other words, the songs of the reggaetoneros were created in classical music mode, very much in the style of the Netflix series and the result is the following:
@mr.bob1898 If they played “Yo perreo sola” in Bridgerton #bridgerton #Totinos425 #TurboTaxAndRelax
@mr.bob1898 That no slimy sticks to him #badbunny #bridgerton #for you #boricua #Totinos425
@mr.bob1898 These are too fun to make?? @contodonetflix #bridgerton #Totinos425 #TurboTaxAndRelax #badbunny
Of course, in the comment box there is everything, from those who applaud the creativity of the tiktoker to the detractors of reggaeton who have spent years pointing to the genre and its exponents.
Today, the urban genre is dominant in the music industry; Spotify and YouTube, the two most powerful music platforms, are led by their representatives.
Recently, another reggaeton ensemble, Wisin & Yandel announced their farewell tour, which, as expected, will arrive in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.
Currently, Wisin & Yandel have more than 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with their song “Aullando” being the most listened to on the platform with just over 329 million views.
