As expected, the rain has made an appearance in Sochi this Saturday with great force and enough quantity to alter many of the established plans. Although qualifying, at the time of this writing, maintains its scheduled start time, it is quite likely that it will be delayed until the rain gives some margin so that everything can be played safely. Everything points to the fact that, from 15:00 onwards, there should be no more water, and that perhaps from the opportunity that Free Practice 3 this morning has not had, or the support categories that have seen their races canceled.
In the event that qualifying is disputed today, it seems like a coin toss in which what was seen yesterday on dry could be of little importance. Of course, if we trust previous events, waiting could lead to a dry Q3, and if the Mercedes are there, they could be unstoppable again on a track they know like the back of their hand, especially Valtteri Bottas. The preparation of the teams before these terrible conditions could open the hand to some surprise pole, and both Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz will be on the lookout for if the liquid element gives them a joy.
