A series of concept arts from Star Wars Episode IX show the torture Chewbacca, our beloved Wookiee, was subjected to.
The Rise of Skywalker underwent many changes during its production process. The Episode IX had to close the sequel trilogy of starwarsbut also all the Skywalker Saga. A titanic task that fell into the hands of JJ Abramswho tried harder to erase what he had done Ryan Johnson than for building a worthy ending to the story. In that sense, lucasfilm had serious problems to include everything that the filmmaker wanted to use. His ideas. Although we do not detract from that attempt, nor from the director’s will to offer the best possible product… the truth is that the final result was terrible.

A few days ago we showed the epic final battle that they would have fought ben solo and king skywalker. Now we have a couple of concept arts in which Kylo Ren met with Chewbacca; or, rather, tortured him. The meeting was anything but familiar. We share the art of Jon McCoy below for you to take a look. What do you think of these concept arts? The truth is that they are amazing…
The story behind this deleted torture scene
«In the movie, there was a scene where Chewbacca was being interrogated and tortured.explained the concept artist for Star Wars Episode IX. «We were asked to come up with some ideas for this sequence, with layouts of the machine that would keep him tied up in terrible stressful positions. My goal was to portray a very iconic and unique pose that Chewbacca would be held in. I wanted the shots of that scene to be memorable.«.
Jon McCoy has also revealed that he suggested that the Millenium Falcon would go from being just a ship to being the new base of the Resistance. «I had a vision of an 80s toy set in which we shared toys spread and slid, turning the original object into something else.“, he pointed. Obviously, we didn’t end up seeing him in Star Wars Episode IX.
