Will we finally see his true Ultra Instinct?
Chapter 82 of Dragon Ball Super has been one of the most climatic of the Current Arc, since the return of Bardock to history had speculated what Akira Toriyama was preparing with him, now we finally know what his reason for being was: Goku’s true power awakening Do you remember when at the beginning of Akira Toriyama’s work it was a special event to see (or stop) the little saiyan when he awakened his power as Ozaru when he saw the full moon? Well, it seems that Goku could experience these kinds of emotions once again.
In previous chapters, we saw Goku, Granola and Vegeta resist the attacks of Gas, who had become the strongest warrior in the entire universe thanks to the dragon balls on his planet. However, The story took an unexpected turn when Granola was knocked down and Vegeta ran out of energy. (because he had given his strength to the cerealian to recover. Now, our protagonist was the last hope, using all his experience gained over the years.
However, Gas was quickly gaining ground and in Dragon Ball Super chapter 82 we saw that Goku even used his teleportation to buy some time. To do this, he arrives at the planet where Whis rested, whom he asks to stop the hitman for a while.
However, he doesn’t and only gives her one last piece of advice: ‘You should have your own Ultra Instinct. You have to listen to your inner voice.’ Whis tells him this because he is his master, he knows that his abilities and powers are different, if he wants to beat Gas, he has to use all the tools he has.
But can he do it? In chapter 82 of Dragon Ball Super they show us that this awakening could be closer than expected. After our protagonist returns to the cereal planet to meet Vegeta, Monaito and Granola, he receives the power meter from Bardock, his father, which awakens memories in him that lead him to raise his power to a new level.
Dragon Ball Super 82: Goku’s Imminent Awakening as Whis’s Successor
Although it is not really clear what could happen in the next chapter of Dragon Ball Super 82, because the last frames of the amnga only show us how Goku was upset by his father’s words addressed to Monaito and Granola: “You have to survive”. The full message reads as follows: “Monaito, run away as far as you can! I’ll stop Gas. Listen to me well. Even if it’s just you, you have to survive”, as far as we know, not only did he stop the hitman, but he managed to defeat him, causing trauma to him.
“You have to survive”, this last sentence seems to resonate with Goku like few things have, he has a regression to when he last saw his father and mother. This event is what could unleash the hidden power of the protagonist, and thus achieve his ultimate form. In fact, Dragon Ball Super chapter 82 may have shown us the awakening of this destructive level. However, we will have to wait a couple more weeks to find out if this is true or not.
