Unreal Engine 5 aims to be one of the most used engines in the coming years due to its accessibility and possibilities, with functions such as Lumens and Nanite that provide great innovations in geometry and lighting. It’s still a while before we see the first games developed with the Epic Games engine, but new and interesting proposals don’t stop being announced, such as Hell is Us, a more than interesting action and adventure game that leaves more questions than answers.
This is the most ambitious project to date for the Rogue Factor team, which counts Jonathan Jacques-Belletête in the role of creative director thanks to his experience with Eidos Montreal in the development of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or the most recent Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It is an action game in the third person where the protagonist must discover his stormy past while advancing through a semi-open world ravaged by war and full of dangerous creatures.
“We are delighted to finally announce this game. As a publisher, we always want to offer titles with original ideas that appeal to as many people as possible. The first Rogue Factor game since we acquired it is also one of our most ambitious projectsand we are eager to reveal more details,” said Alain Falc, CEO of Nacon (via LevelUP).
At the moment no gameplay sequence has been shown beyond this CGI presentation trailer, but it is expected that there will be news of the game soon, as its launch window is narrowed, scheduled for 2023. Hell is Us will have versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PCIt will not be intergenerational. We’ll see if it manages to maintain that enormous quality of cinematics in the final game, if it meets its launch window, it could be one of the first games developed in Unreal Engine 5 to reach the market.
