In the Bible it is told about Noah’s ark, which served to save not only a group of people, but also animals, from the universal Flood. Now, in the 21st century, the Japanese of N-Ark they designed a city for 40 thousand people: its name is Dogen City. The most curious? It’s floating.
Dogen City utility focuses on the rise in sea level. Various organizations predict that with climate change the poles will melt, gradually raising the sea level.
That is why they prevent, creating this masterpiece of architecture, an ingenious floating city and self-sustaining.
The city of N-Ark is made up of three main parts:
- An outer ring for housing, sewerage, energy and drinking water supply.
- Several floating buildings in the internal area, which can be moved freely to transport residents around the city.
- a center of data and facilities and medical research under the surface of the water.
Dogen City, the medical city
Yuichi Tei, a postgraduate professor at the University of Tokyo in the faculties of medicine and engineering, spoke about Dogen City for the specialized portal My Modern Met. Tei is one of the advisers on the project.
“I thought it would be great if we could create a city where people can improve their health naturally, by living in a city that was designed from the ground up. to be advantageous for disease prevention.” Professor Tei remarked.
The big key to Dogen City lies in its underwater data center, as it will house both the city’s operating system and medical services. Hence the nickname “medical city”.
Will have health care centers, a DNA bank, surgical and testing facilities. Being underwater, the climate will be low, allowing lower costs in the use of energy.
N-Ark was founded in 2021, and a first stage of Doge City is expected already available by the year 2030.
