Nowadays, a simple cell phone is enough to record video quite convincingly if we have the right technique and applications. One of those applications is called DoubleTake, and what it does is record simultaneously on two of the iPhone’s cameras.
The application, in fact, lets you choose freely between the two main cameras or between one of the main cameras and the front one, which allows the user to record himself while recording what he is watching, or record the same scene using different lenses at the same weather. In addition to separating video recordings, DoubleTake records audio separately using different microphones.
We have a lot of situations in which this possibility of simultaneous recording can be very useful. Not to mention the juice they can get on networks like TikTok, Snapchat or YouTube. The only drawback, for now, is that the application is still in the testing phase and only lets you record at 1080p and 30fps resolution. Nor can certain functions such as zoom be used.
DoubleTake is free and the bad news is that at the moment it is only available on iPhone and for a handful of models: iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone XS (and XS Max), and iPhone XR. All of them need to be updated to iOS 13.
