The designers Egue & Mushroom redefine the open plan concept in this large apartment where the spaces connect and disconnect to serve as a refuge and offer privacy when necessary. Because, although in theory open and connected spaces are very desirable and in demand, -among other advantages, light and meters are gained-, confinement and teleworking have shown us that it is also important to have more secluded and intimate spaces, in which it is possible to make a work videoconference or relax at certain times.
To get both, For this 189.9 m2, three-storey semi-detached house, the Egue & Seta team designed a system from latticework and framed windows, that open the space as if they were interior windows. For example, in this house the kitchen overlooks the living room and the powder room overlooks the bedroom.
The ground floor, kitchen overlooking the living room
Access to the ground floor is through a small hall from which the kitchen is accessed through a white aluminum door with white panels.
The same design has been used in the large sliding panel which, if it is open, open the living room to the entrance. Instead of a conventional wall, the part of the kitchen that adjoins the dining room has been replaced by a paneled glass wall with an open holeas if it were an interior window.
In its design, the use of neutral base tones and materialswith oak wood (on the floor, side tables and in the dining room), combined with beige textiles and black details on the shelf behind the sofa, the fireplace and in the pretty wood tank built into the wall.
The living room opens onto a small garden or interior terrace.
The kitchen is a reinterpretation of the classic style with furniture with white and turquoise green moldings, and golden handles.
On this floor, under the stairwell, there is a nice courtesy toilet with a flora design wallpaperly a small sink.
The master bedroom with an open en-suite bathroom
The master bedroom is connected to the bathroom through a wooden lattice on which the sink rests. The custom designed sink countertop “hides” a vanity drawer.
The neutral tones in beige are repeated in the master bedroom inviting rest. On the wall of the headboard, a wallpaper with light plant motifs has been placed in different shades of green and blue.
In the rest of the bathroom, an iron structure with a black profile and embossed glass, hide and give privacy to the shower and toilet.
The games room with a climbing wall
Children have an off-road playroom. On the ground, comfortable mats cushion possible falls from the small climbing wall that covers a wall.
The living room or family refuge
The attic or top floor with a gabled roof is an open and multidisciplinary space with access to a terrace. It can be used as a living room, as a teleworking area or as a reading area thanks to a large built-in bookcase that mixes wood, turquoise green and rattan gridny that includes a large television and a desk.
