This skyscraper project could be a reality in Manhattan and would reverse the concept we have of this type of building.
They are many the skyscrapers that have left us with our mouths open in recent times, some projects are already a reality and others simply projects, and another future that we could see, specifically in New York, is something totally “inverse” to what is known.
Now the architect’s signature Sir David Adjaye has unveiled a series of plans to create a new skyscraper for New York City called Affirmation Tower and that if built, it would be one of the tallest buildings in the northern hemisphere with a striking inverted design, as if it were an upside-down skyscraper.
It should be noted that this skyscraper does not yet exist, and it is a project that is still in a very early stage, so we will see if it continues.
Be that as it may, we already have the first images of what it would look like within the entire New York landscape, possibly rising up on a prominent patch of Manhattan.
The shape of the skyscraper would be composed of a series of blocky sections stacked on top of each other creating a kind of tiered building which seems to increase in width as it rises to the upper floors. The skyscraper would reach a height of 506 m, very close to the 546 m of the One World Trade Center.
If realized, it would rise as the second tallest skyscraper in the west and eleventh on the world’s tallest list including office space, two hotels, the NAACP headquarters, an observation deck and even a skating rink.
Without a doubt, if it is built it will be one of the main attractions that the public can enjoy from the outside, although if you are not a vertigo lover it is likely that you will not be interested in going up to its roof.
