There is less left for the premiere of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ and finally the new series of ‘Star Wars’ marks the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to the franchise. It’s almost two decades since ‘Revenge of the Sith’, and the two have had to do their homework to get back into the skin of their characters.
Exploring animated terrain
The prequel trilogy did not treat too well Hayden Christensen, who was burned out of the movies after many fans criticized his performance as Anakin Skywalker. He has rained a lot in the Star Wars fandom, but his return as Darth Vader in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ It has been one of the best surprises that the series could give us.
With all the time that has passed since he shot the prequels, Christensen has had to catch up with the George Lucas saga and it seems that he has studied thoroughly for his return.
“I have seen all the movies again. And I also saw the animated series, ‘The Clone Wars’, and ‘Rebels’, the actor has confirmed.
Christensen has praised the animated series, which according to him help to develop the characters of the films much better and give greater depth to the relationships. Christensen will also appear in ‘Ahsoka’, so of course the animated series are key to understanding the relationship between Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan.
“It was interesting. They did a lot of things with the characters on these shows. And they got to explore a lot more of the relationships. There’s a lot of interesting things to learn from,” Christensen said. “It was so much fun, to be able to go back and dive back into this world that just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger.”
On your side, Ewan McGregor says he’s seen all nine movies to get back into the mood. “It’s been interesting to see our movies again, because I haven’t seen them since they came out. It’s been really cool to see them again, and it’s interesting to see and enjoy them without all the noise around when they came out.”
