After he was arrested over the weekend for a domestic violence incident in New York, documentation from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has revealed the specific charges Jonathan Majors was prosecuted for and other details of the altercation.
To recap, the New York Police Department detailed that the actor was arrested after answering a 911 call.
“On Saturday, March 25, 2023, at approximately 11:14 a.m., police responded to a 911 call inside an apartment located in the vicinity of West 22nd Street and 8th Street. Avenue, within the limits of the 10th Precinct,” the statement read. “A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old man was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. The victim informed the police that she was assaulted. Officers took the 33-year-old man into custody without incident. She suffered minor head and neck injuries and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.”
That same afternoon, a spokesperson for the Marvel star shared a brief statement to the media after the arrest (via): “He hasn’t done anything wrong. We hope to clear his name and clear this up.” Yesterday, his lawyer Priya Chaudhry indicated that they are already providing evidence for all charges to be dropped.

What news do we have now in this case? The victim testified in the complaint before the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (via People) that Majors “slammed her across the face with an open hand, causing considerable pain and a laceration behind her ear.” The 30-year-old woman, whose identity is not made clear in the documentation, adds that the performer also “put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and considerable pain.”
Officially, Majors was accused of two counts of assault in the third degree; three counts of attempted assault in the third degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree and one count of harassment in the second degree. The judge granted a limited protective order to the victim. The actor, for his part, was released on parole. This after prosecutors agreed to supervised release for him and a full protection order for her.
In another report from ABC News, New York police sources revealed that it was Jonathan Majors himself who called 91 to report “his concern for his girlfriend, with whom he lives.” According to the defense version, the woman involved was going through a “nervous breakdown.”
However, the actor’s partner told a completely different story to the authorities when they arrived. She said they were both in a cab on the way home from a bar in Brooklyn when he physically attacked her. The officers noticed marks on her body and decided to arrest Majors.
Associated Press adds that Jonathan Majors must appear on these charges in court on May 8.
