The nurse disappeared after leaving her shift and so far has not been located.
According to information from the UN, the state where more women were victims of femicide was Chihuahua in 2010
The death rate due to femicide in Chihuahua was 33.1 per 100,000 women.
Relatives, friends and workers of the IMSS clinic 11 in Xalapa demonstrated on the steps of the Metropolitan Cathedral to request the support of the authorities and citizens to locate the young nurse Itzel Valdés Pérez, who since yesterday disappeared when leaving his work.
“He went off guard and disappeared. Her husband no longer located her and we no longer know anything about her. She left at 08:10 in the morning yesterday (Thursday October 20). They have not given us an answer, it has already been more than 24 hours, right now time is valuable, ”said her colleagues at the IMSS clinic 11 where she works.
The young 32-year-old nurse has been working for more than ten years at clinic number 11 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), located on Nicolás Bravo street, in the downtown area of the city of Xalapa.

More than 100 thousand disappearances in Mexico
According to a UN statement, The Committee against Enforced Disappearances (CED) and the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances expressed their deep concern about the growing number held by the National Registry of Disappeared and Unaccounted for Persons in Mexico. The experts issued the following statement:
“Over 100,000 officially registered missing persons in Mexico is a heartbreaking tragedy. The figure speaks for itself and is an unequivocal warning.”
We also note that, in many cases, disappearances go unreported, so the magnitude of this tragedy may even go beyond what is currently recorded, according to the UN statement.
