We’ll be back in the Hundred Acres very soon—although it won’t be a forest—as a new Christopher Robin series is in the works with a…twisted, grown-up twist. In this production, the events we met in the original novels will be presented again, but now with a more psychedelic sensibility.
This is how he reports it Varietyadding that the production will be hybrid, since it will mix live action and animation. Another thing that stands out is that the pilot will be directed by Conrad Vernon, who already has a lot of experience in animated projects, but at the same time has a lot of comedy involved, such as Shrek 2 (2004) and The sausage party (2016). Vernon will also executive produce alongside writer Charlie Kesslering.
What will the new Christopher Robin series be like?
According to the first official description:
“Christopher Robin is a disillusioned New Yorker navigating a life crisis with the help of the strange talking animals who live beyond a drug-induced portal outside his abandoned Hundred Acres apartment complex.”
It will be developed by two companies: Boat Rocker Studios and Bay Mills Studios, the latter is led by brothers Shamier Anderson and Stephan James, both actors. They said the following in a statement:
“This project takes everything you think you know about Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh and creates something completely fresh and undeniably fun. We are excited to partner with Boat Rocker, Charlie and Conrad on this journey into a truly creative space where anything is possible for these characters.”

For his part, Nick Nantell, Boat Rocker’s vice president of creative affairs, and who will also serve as executive producer of the series, had this to say:
“There are few characters more iconic and known around the world for their adventures together than Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh. We are grateful to be working with the Bay Mills team, Charlie Kesslering and Conrad Vernon on a project that takes these characters to new, unexpected and really fun places.”
Since the rights to the characters created by AA Milne expired and they entered the public domain, numerous adaptations have been created that have explored other terrains and experimented with other genres. The first of these adaptations was Winnie the Pooh: Honey and Bloodwhich will have a sequel.
There is no confirmed premiere date for the series yet.
