- “Nonfungible Testicles” or as Movember calls it, “the first NFT that can save a life”, rewards men for regularly checking their testicles.
- Movember is the world’s first charity to create an NFT (non-fungible token) that encourages young men to self-screen for cancer.
- Owners will be rewarded for getting familiar with their non-fungible testicles, the same way they should check their real testicles.
Movember is the first charity in the world to create an NFT (non-fungible token) that encourages young men to self-screen for cancer and raise funds for vital research.
The NFT project (Nonfungible Testicles) of Movember contemplates the collaboration of Movember with the art collective MISHKA NYC to create an exclusive NFT collection to be launched that also marks a topic on the importance of testicular cancer awareness.
Each NFT will evolve depending on how much you ‘review’ it. Owners will be rewarded for getting acquainted with their non-fungible testicles, the same way they should check your real testicles. Regular self-assessments let men know what’s normal for them so they can act quickly if anything changes.
The project aims to raise awareness about the risk of testicular cancer
The project aims to raise awareness of the risk of testicular cancer among the NFT and crypto community of young men.
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men. When caught early, it is highly treatable and curable. However, previous Movember research has shown that more than half of men aged 18 to 34 worldwide did not know they were in the age group most at risk. Nearly two-thirds (62 percent) of this group did not know how to conduct a self-examination.
Proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will support the testicular cancer researchspecifically the TIGER multinational trial which has been designed to determine which therapy works best for men who have been treated for testicular cancer, but in whom the cancer has returned.
Dan Cooper, Director of Innovation at Movember, said:
“The dynamic nature of NFTs and blockchain technology enables fun and innovative new ways to reach men and encourage behavior change.
“Owners will be rewarded for checking their non-fungible testicles, as you should your own. It is the first collection of NFTs that we know of that could save a life. It’s also a fun way to own a unique piece of art from our MISHKA NYC partners and join a unique community of like-minded collectors and NFT owners.
Details on how to own and support the project will be posted on the NFT channel Movember Discord, nonfungibletesticles.io and will be shared on Movember’s Twitter.
NFTs from the Movember Non-Fungible Testis Project will be stored on the Solana blockchain due to lower environmental impact and ease of entry.
