For the Metroid saga, Metroid Prime was a before and after. This is because the saga starring Samus Aran was born on the NES, which meant having to adapt from the 5th generation to 3 dimensions. Many sagas did not get it, falling into oblivion, others achieved it with note and there is a third group that does not finish adapting. Fortunately for all the fans, Metroid is in the second group, thereby increasing his fan base.
And it is just one of these that we have to talk about, since, if there is something that the fans like, it is honor their sagas, whether in the form of covers, drawings or any other project. AND in the case of Metroid, fan remakes are common, being one of the most talked about cases that of Another Metroid 2 Remake (also known as AM2R), which was developed in parallel to Metroid Samus Returns and that ended up being removed from the Internet at the request of Nintendo.
Metroid Prime demake canceled
Under this premise and with this antecedent, last April it became known that a small group of developers, called Team SCU, they were working on a 2D version of Metroid Prime, which would fulfill the function of be a demake of the acclaimed Nintendo Game Cube title and adapting it to how it would be within the classic aspect of the saga. You can see it below:
However, the bad news of this is accompanied by the cancellation of the Prime 2D project, something that happened as soon as the demo of the game was published. It should be noted that here is the mistake, since, as long as nothing is published, companies are often tied hand and foot. Nevertheless, at the moment in which some content goes public, companies can take down the project.
You don’t have to go far to see this, since it was exactly the same thing that happened with AM2R, of which its elimination was requested as soon as it was published, although it did not have any previous demo to speed up this procedure. Thus, Group representatives have commented in various media that the project has been canceled because, without giving names, a certain video game company has asked for the cessation of work.
