Elden Ring has become one of the great sensations of this year, so much so that it has dazzled a large part of the public and the press, as you can see in our analysis. The public has been so delighted that this has been reflected both in mentions on social networks (having words related to the game in trends for more than a week) and in sales, which have managed to break several records for the company. This has been achieved in part thanks to the large number of mechanics and new elements that manage to elevate the so-called souls genre to stratospheric levels.
Something very normal in any release is that the most curious users, and who at the same time have a lot of knowledge on the matter, decide get to investigate the code of the game, and on many occasions they discover very interesting things. Elden Ring was not going to be the exception, and of course they have found an item that is not available within the final gameso it has either been discarded, or is ready to be added later.
Specifically, this finding has been shared by the Twitter user known as “@JesterPatches“, which has used his personal account on this platform to share what he has found. To be more specific, his discovery has to do with a supposed bestiary in which we could find images of various enemies and characters. This theory is reinforced if we have Note that all the images have been found twice in the code: one obscured and one normal, which would indicate that the first would be used when you have not found that character, while the second would replace the first as soon as they were found. this It is supported by photographic evidence that you can find below:
Looking through the game files I came across a few icons making me believe that a bestiary was planned at some point.
There are 128 icons showing different NPCs. Each NPC shown has 2 icons, one grayed out and another one filled in, so it could be not found and found. pic.twitter.com/9b0Tj6ckm3

No one has officially commented on this., so all we can do is speculate, however, there can only be two options. Either FromSoftware has put it in the code because they plan to add it with an update or DLC, or on the contrary it is simply an idea that was had and abandoned at some point in the development of the title.
