The new climbing mechanic in Fortnite could allow players to avoid falling damage in some situations. The climbing mechanic, which is common in many other games, was added as part of the second season, accompanied by other changes such as the removal of the iconic Fortnite building system.
As Fortnite heads into the second season of its third chapter, it continues to expand and improve through a host of new mechanics, features, and activities. Climb is one of the features that has the potential to drastically change the gameplay, as it allows players to climb up some ledges and open new doors when exploring. Unlike other more controversial aspects of Season 2, this climbing mechanic seems to have been received quite well.
Now, a video from YouTuber SoaR Milo indicates that this new mechanic could offer more benefits than previously thought. The video focuses on “busting myths” about the changes in the second season of Fortnitebegins with an experiment that attempts to show whether the climbing ledges can cancel fall damage.
The experiment consists of the character of SoaR Milo being dropped from a considerable height and “grabbing” the ledge of a building. In this case, the “myth” seems to be true, as SoaR Milo’s character does not take any damage.
However, fans of Fortnite they will want to wait a bit before assuming that this is 100% true. SoaR Milo’s video is not, by all accounts, fraudulent, but that does not mean that its result is definitive.
As with any experiment, the results must be replicated several times. SoaR Milo has also pointed out that this trick requires exceptional timing when using the climbing mechanic.
