Due to multiple leaks, many gamers had already assumed that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was on the way. Since some players and streamers find the Caldera map somewhat boring, it seems that Activision is going to give users a new experience instead of trying to save the old game.
Recently, it has been officially announced that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is in development and is expected to release in late 2022. Some time after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, similar to how the first Warzone was released after the reboot of the first Modern Warfare game ( 2019).
Through the leaks, fans can already have an idea of what the map of war zone 2but aside from that and some other information on the internet, gamers are waiting for official announcements from Activision to find out more about the upcoming title.
Now, Activision has released information about Warzone 2 that may be disappointing for some fans. According to an official blog post, players who switch to the new game will not be able to carry over their progress or items from the original Warzone. This is mainly due to the fact that war zone 2 it is not considered a substitute for the original game.
As stated by Activision, Call of Duty: Warzone will remain a separate experience, allowing for a “continuation” of player progression in that game. Given that many players have already spent a great deal of time earning weapons and skins in Call of Duty: Warzone, it will be a divisive decision to have that time and effort go to waste in the new game.
However, according to Activision, there’s no immediate need for gamers to jump ship and move on to Warzone 2 as soon as it’s released, as both games will be available to play as separate experiences. Only time will tell if Call of Duty: Warzone and its sequel are equal games or if one is more appealing to gamers than the other.
