The rumors that switch could soon welcome to the games game boy have been around for a long time, but over the past few months these have popped up from everywhere, even claiming that subscribers to nintendo switch online could have access to the games that were originally released on game boy Y GameBoy Advance.
All these theories seem to have gained more strength, since apparently emulators developed by Nintendo for the system, and even, according to the twitter user @Trashbandatcootfour files were leaked to 4chanincluding an emulator game boy with the code name “Hiyoko” and a GBA emulator by the name of “sloop”.
Apparently those emulators were created by NERDwhat does it mean Nintendo European Research & Developmenta team that has handled other emulators used in switchthat is why, according to @Trashbandatcootthese emulators are “both functional, albeit with some bugs”.
So far, we must take all this with a grain of salt, as Nintendo has not offered any official confirmation, however, this seems to be the strongest evidence yet that the games of game boy Y GameBoy Advance will be added to nintendo switch online.
Although, unfortunately, there is no way of knowing if they will be included in the basic subscription model or as part of the more expensive expansion pack (which might be the most likely), since the basic subscription level gives users access to the games that were first released in NES Y SNESwhile the expansion pack currently offers games that were first released on N64 Y Sega-Genesis.
Now, let’s keep in mind that at the time game boy Y GameBoy Advance they presented some of the most loved games by the community, since throughout the years, they keep looking to be able to play them again; these emulators seem to point to several classics that could come to the platform.
And one of the images leaked and shared by @trashbandatcootsample Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, golden sun, Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, among others. And although, Nintendo really bring these games to nintendo switch onlineit’s unclear how many will be available at launch and which ones will be added over time.
So if we’re lucky, Nintendo will offer some kind of official announcement in the next few days, which does not fail to give us all the illusion that this can become a reality and eventually we can enjoy all those games again.
