Redim, the Network for the Rights of Children in Mexico, issued a statement this Monday, January 17, asking that the justice investigate the influencer Mariana Rodríguez and her husband, Samuel García, governor of Nuevo León, for the temporary “adoption” of a baby this weekend.
In a text signed by Tania Ramírez Hernández, executive of the NGO, the entity expresses its concern and says that Mariana Rodríguez, head of the “AMAR a Nuevo León” Office, extracted a baby from the DIF Capullos center. five months, disabled, arguing a cohabitation permit.
“Regardless of whether there could be an apparent humanitarian motivation behind these events, it is essential to remember that children and adolescents are holders of rights and that it is the obligation of the State, and of its representatives, to ensure these rights,” says Redim in the release.
In Instagram, the couple shared photos with the child, a fact that was described as violent by the agency.
Redim says that “a boy or girl in a DIF attention center is ‘per se’ a victim of previous violations of their rights”, from which he asks for the intervention of the State to provide guarantee and protection.
The text speaks of “excessive and unnecessary exposure” of the baby and says that the photographs “violate the protection of his identity”, in addition to the fact that it could have been used as political propaganda by the colors of Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), a party for which The current governor came to his post.

In this context, Redim recalls that the General Law on the Rights of Girls and Boys prohibits the dissemination of images of children, especially when they are victims.
“We make a respectful and firm call to Mrs. Rodríguez, head of AMAR Nuevo León, and to the governor of the state of Nuevo León to act for the non-commodification of this child, nor of any other or another,” the NGO concludes.
