Key facts:
Dogecoin (DOGE), ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), and MATIC make up the list.
There is no altcoin season, despite these records.
The cryptocurrency market is characterized by several things. But one of them, and perhaps the one that most attracts enthusiasts to this world, is the number of coins with vertiginous price increases, very high, in a short time.
In the last year, there is a list of 30 coins belonging to the top 100 of the market that have not only had significant increases: they have, at least, doubled their market value in that period.
The list is headed by Shiba Inu (SHIB), according to the records of CoinParticle. As we have previously reported in CriptoNoticias, the cryptocurrency has had such a great increase that, in a range of one year, its price has multiplied more than 200,000%.
In fact, at its highest point it had appreciated up to 800,000%. Thus, each dollar invested at the low point became about 8,000 during the peak for the meme cryptocurrency that competes with Dogecoin (DOGE).
If we refer to the most successful of the last year, behind Shiba Inu appears another of the great phenomena of this market: Axie Infinity, whose AXS token has appreciated more than 3,800%.
We also find among these cryptocurrencies Solana (SOL) or MATIC. These last two have risen more than 600% in that period. DOGE is another of the most recognized cryptocurrencies that doubled its value of the market in the last 365 days, with an increase of more than 170%. Ether (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC) also appear on the list.
Bitcoin continues to lead the market
Despite the sky-high returns of many major non-bitcoin (BTC) cryptocurrencies, there is currently no altcoin season. The records of Blockchain Center This is how they show it with their index of altseason.
Altcoin season is a time when the market is dominated in returns by a large number of altcoins to bitcoin. The index measures the first 50 of the top. And when at least 75% of them have outperformed BTC over a three-month range, it’s altcoin season. That is not the case currently, with just 22% of those cryptocurrencies outperforming BTC in percentage terms.
There is even no “altcoin year” either, regardless of the numbers we have seen in this article. However, for the one-year record there is more closeness to dominance on the part of altcoins: 63% outperform BTC in that time range.
