We are at the ideal time to plan the holidays. Many of us have little left to be able to escape for a few days and every idea that comes to mind is good for discovering beautiful places. Thus, today we propose to go to Portugal, but beyond the best known sitesentering other jewels of the neighboring country.
Thus, we leave behind Lisbon, Madeira, Aveiro, Porto or the Algarve. This time we are going to more idyllic places full of nature and charm where we can discover other facets of Portugal and, why not, get some of the most ideal Instagram photos.
Loriga Beach
We start with one of the most beautiful places located in the Sierra de la Estrella Natural Park. This is the Loriga river beach, which is located in the Loriga Glacier Valley (belonging to the municipality of the same name and known as “the Portuguese Switzerland”) and where we find some pure and crystalline waters that emanate from a spring in the mountains.
Undoubtedly, a place of unique beauty, which we find in a protected environment, with rugged relief and where you can enjoy the tranquility and a good handful of activities.
little black
In the central area of Portugal we have a true hidden wonder in Manhouce, São Pedro do Sul, called the Lagoa do Poco Negro. Its crystal-clear waters are fed by the Teixeira River, one of the wildest in the country and which we find following one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Portugal.
Lagoa da Esturranha
When you hear about waterfalls and lagoons in Minho, we cannot think only of the Peneda-Gerês National Park since just over 20 km from Viana do Castelo are the wonderful waterfalls and lagoons of the Serra d’Arga.
Lake Esturranha is located in the parish of Freixiedo de Soutelo, just off the N305 road. A haven of peace with turquoise waters where, in addition, we can swim as it alternates deep and shallow areas and enjoy a summer without suffocating heat. A magical corner of the Serra d’Arga.
Chas of Egua
We finish this selection of jewels with a small village full of charm: Chãs de Égua that belongs to the parish of Piódão and share with her the mystical beauty of the Serra do Açor. A small town isolated for many years, with origins dating back to the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.
They are characterized by a very rural mountain aspect, with their typical schist and slate houses, surrounded by a nalmost pure nature, rich in species of fauna and flora that find their natural habitat here.
A little below the town is the town of Foz d’Egua where we find a beautiful river beach that really conquers.
Four unique enclaves with which to discover the multiple and beautiful facets that we have in Portugal and that make it so special.
