Beating Norway’s Casper Ruud 6-3, 6-3, 6-0, Spain’s Rafael Nadal claimed his 14th Roland Garros crown.
With the victory, Rafa already has 22 Grand Slams in his career, two more than the Swiss Roger Federer and the Serbian Novak Djocovic.
The feat of “Rafa” generated the reaction of numerous brands, especially those without their sponsors.
From Babolat, Nike and Kia, to Banco Santander and Movistar They sought to be present with content and strategies to congratulate the French Open champion and second Grand Slam of the year.
Brands support Rafael Nadal
Nadal won in Paris despite constant injuries in recent months and strong rumors about his possible retirement.
In the networks, Movistar sought to take advantage of its link with the tennis player since with its platform –Movistar+– it broadcast all the Roland Garros matches for Spain, which gave it a significant rating volume.
Movistar’s marketing strategy was described by the brand as an action “at the height of the greatest athlete in Spain of all time”.
In its social media accounts, Movistar+ announced that his #Vamos channel was renamed #Rafa. In addition, all programming will be dedicated to publishing exclusive content about the player.

Other companies that support Nadal used the networks to congratulate him.
Banco Santander, of which Rafa is an ambassador, released a video that compiles photos of his 22 Grand Slam wins with the slogan “When reality is stranger than fiction”.
Nadal’s Korean brand sponsor, KIA, wanted to be present at the celebration. She celebrated with a tweet in which she said, “You’re from another world, but luckily you’re in this one.”
Telefónica, for its part, posted on Twitter “The legend has no end” and thanked him for being an athlete who is an example to the world.
The Amstel beer brand also dedicated a post celebrating Nadal’s triumph in France. He did it with a special video.
Also its technical sponsors, such as Babolat rackets, and the sports brand Nike echoed the victory.
The Roland Garros tournament, the most powerful brand in tennis, also joined the celebrations for the conquest of Nadal’s 14th title on that surface.
