A few days ago we saw how to create a multi-stay audio system with two or more Echo speakers from Amazon and in the process, a quite interesting option appeared that allows adding an Echo speaker to a Fire TV device, also from Amazon, so that the audio can also go out through the speaker and without using cables.
An advantage that can come in handy especially to those users who have one of the highest quality audio models such as the Echo Studio or to a lesser degree, the Echo Plus. And although for testing I have only been able to use one Echo Dot, the process is the same.
Steps to follow
The premises are the same as in the previous case so that both the Fire TV and the Echo speaker must be under the same Wi-Fi network. Based on this basis, on the main screen of the Alexa application that we can download both from the App Store and from the Google Play Store.
In the initial screen, we look for the “Devices” section at the bottom left and as we saw before, in the new screen we look for the “+” symbol in the upper right corner.
The different menus that we already know but with changes follow one another, and that is that in the first, instead of choosing the third option, we choose the last one, “Set up an audio system”. On the new screen, we choose “Home Theater” and not “Pair of speakers”, eye. It only remains to give a name to the group that we are going to configure…
The application studies and analyzes Echo and Fire TV devices connected to the Wi-Fi network at home and as we can see not all are compatible. In my case, the Echo Spot has no place, so I have chosen to use the Echo Dot as a speaker associated with the Fire TV. It only remains to determine the room in which both devices are located, in this chaos the hall.
To check if we have created the group correctly, we return to the initial screen and scroll to the end. We see how the name that we have given to the group appears, in this case, “Speaker”, a box on which if we press, it offers access to the devices connected in the same group, in this case, the Echo Dot and a Fire Stick TV.
