Less than a year after its launch, the BMW iX3 is updated. It suffers a marked restyling mainly focused on its exterior appearance, although it also adds new technologies and prices significantly lower than those of the model to which it happens.
The BMW iX3 came on the market in October last year, although it was not until the beginning of this year that we had the opportunity to taste it. It is strange that in less than a year the Germans have decided to update it. Electric SUV now gets a slight facelift, a restyling with which to face the next years of the life cycle, or at least that is expected.
Structurally speaking, the model does not suffer alterations. Its size leaves clear evidence of belonging to the D-SUV segment. Outwardly it reaches 4.73 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.67 meters high. To these dimensions we must add a wheelbase of 2.86 meters. In terms of cargo capacity, the BMW iX3 announces a trunk with a minimum capacity of 510 liters, extendable to 1,560 liters if the second row of seats is folded down completely.
The main changes of this restyling are focused on the exterior, where we can see that the iX3 abandons its conservative style to look much more like the combustion versions. There are two trim levels: Inspiring and Impressive. The differences between them lie in minute details such as the size of the rims and the measurements of the tires, the access model being narrower and more efficient.

Electrical system of the BMW iX3 2022
Since it was less than a year after its launch, BMW has not made any modifications to the powertrain of the 2022 iX3. The unique scheme remains. It consists of a rear electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery with 74 kWh of net capacity. The group develops a 286 horsepower maximum power and 400 Nm of torque. All the energy is transmitted to the asphalt through the rear axle without the possibility of mounting an all-wheel drive scheme.
The performance figures announce that the BMW iX3 offers a maximum autonomy of 460 kilometers with an approved consumption of 18.5 kWh per 100 kilometers traveled. For recharging, BMW has chosen to mount a high-powered team. Up to 150 kW in direct current and up to 11 kW in alternating current. That leaves us with recharge times that range from 35 minutes to go from 0 to 80% on a 150 kW outlet, and seven and a half hours on an 11 kW outlet.
