The streets begin to dress in the color of cempasúchil because the day of the dead celebration is getting closer. We share some of the events that will take place in Mexico City around this important Mexican tradition.
Get ready because the capital government has a vast offer of free events for the whole family as part of the festivities of November 1 and 2.
All the celebrations will be held outdoors, however we suggest you follow the instructions and recommendations of the organizers.
Events for Day of the Dead in CDMX
Picnic in the Forest of Aragon
Prepare the basket, a tablecloth and some delicious sandwiches because this event will take place on October 21 in the north of the capital.
The Bosque de Aragón will be set as a pantheon and will also have a Catrina catwalk. In addition, to warm the bones you can taste a tasty cempasuchil atole.
Festival of skulls and catrinas
On his own, the Risco House Museum prepared a Craft Festival of Skulls and Catrinaswhere you will find handicrafts, clothes, traditional sweets such as the delicious sugar skulls and more.
Now that if you want to accompany your coffee, atole or chocolate with a pan de muerto, you will also find a great variety.
It is important to point out that an offering will be raised in the museum in honor of the teacher José Alfredo Jiménez.
The activities will take place from October 20 to November 20.
Festival of offerings in the Historic Center
The Historic Center will be dressed in orange and yellow, as several offerings will be installed on perimeters A and B of the area.
You can visit the offerings in the Historic Center from October 28 to November 2. The route of the altars will be announced soon.

Mega Procession of Catrinas
Prepare your best outfit and makeup because on October 31 the Mega Procession of Catrinas on the most emblematic avenues of CDMX.
People of all ages can participate in it. The tour will start at the Angel of Independence towards the Plaza de la Constitución.
Parade activities are scheduled to begin around 11:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.
Monumental Alebrijes Parade
Surreal monsters conquer the streets of the capital, because on October 22 at 12:00 p.m. the Monumental Alebrijes Parade.
The activity organized by Museum of Popular Art (MAP) will start in Plinth will end in Angel of Independence.
Mega Offering in the Zócalo
This is one of the most anticipated events to celebrate the Day of the Deadbecause on the Zócalo plate there is a Mega Offering.
It is expected that the installation of this great altar will be ready for you to visit from Friday, October 28.
It is important to point out that during its installation it will have the participation of all the states of the Mexican Republic.
Day of the Dead Parade
Finally, the long-awaited Day of the Dead Parade. The fifth edition of this event will take place next Saturday, October 29.
Waters! Because on August 17, the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed that two parades will be held this year.
