High competition is a characteristic that prevails within the field of health. It is not exclusive to the workplace but starts from the training part. For this reason, each student must make an additional effort to stand out from their other classmates. But have you ever wondered who are the best medical students in our country?
To provide an answer Pfizer Scientific Institute and the Mexican Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine (AMFEM) each year they give recognition to Academic Excellence.
Recognition for students with the best averages
In that same sense, the General Director of Pfizer Mexico, Constance Losadahighlighted the tenacity, dedication and knowledge in the study of medicine of young people from all over Mexico recognized for achieving excellence in a professional field as complex as medicine, which demands a lot of time of study and sacrifices.
In his speech, the Dr. Jorge Eugenio Valdez Garcia, president of AMFEM, underlined the value of synergy between academic authorities, professors, researchers and the pharmaceutical industry. Over the years, it has been key in promoting the training of new health professionals, as well as instilling in them a passion for the development of science in search of the well-being of the population.
On the part of the students, Elva Nayeli Rosas Zavala, a student at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), thanked both institutions for their support. She expressed her joy at the fact that practically all the faculties in the country have been able to resume face-to-face activities, which will surely benefit teamwork, both during the years of professional training and when undertaking scientific research projects.
With the aim of promoting and recognizing the effort and work of recently graduated doctors for the benefit of patients and their families, since 2008, Pfizer Mexico has supported around a thousand male and female students through the Pfizer Scientific Institute.
In this regard, the Dr. Veronica Nateraswho currently leads the Pfizer Scientific Institute and moderated this event, recalled that this initiative from Pfizer’s medical area, which emerged 18 years ago, is a legacy that seeks to support innovative projects, facilitate the continuous training of health professionals and promote the scientific research, always with the aim of improving the lives of patients.
