The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase is here, revealing 15 minutes of footage from Starfield, confirming the latest class for Diablo 4, revealing the early access date for Overwatch 2, showing off Redfall, and tons of other reveals.
Perhaps two of the biggest ones, even, were Hideo Kojima’s new game for Xbox Cloud and the confirmation that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released in Xbox GamePass since Day One, but still without a specific date.
Microsoft promised a bunch of reveals for Xbox GamePass at the Showcase, and he kept his promise. A bunch of new Game Pass titles were shown off, and shortly after the end of the event, the official Xbox Twitter account shared a new image. ANDThis image shows 50 previously announced or newly revealed games coming to Xbox and PC platforms in the next 12 months, of which 40 are Xbox Game Pass titles..
Xbox Game Pass is often described as the best gaming deal, and this news sure bears it out. A year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs about $180, and these 40 games would cost twice as much if they were all priced at $10.
Obviously, with titles like Starfield, Dead Space, the Persona games, Pentiment, Scorn, and A Plague Tale: Requiem included in this 40-game list, that value is much higher. There is simply nothing that beats GamePass in terms of value for your money.
Some of these games already have release dates or windows, while others don’t, but knowing they’re coming in the next 12 months is a powerful promise from Microsoft. If anyone is still upset about Starfield’s delay, they shouldn’t be.
Microsoft has not only demonstrated the value of Xbox Game Pass again today, but has shown the strengths of Xbox Game Studios, its acquisition of Bethesda, and even given a small glimpse into the future of Xbox / Activision-Blizzard.
