There will be a TV series Dungeons and Dragons! One of the most beloved franchises in pop culture in general is undoubtedly the one that started as an RPG and that makes us think of orcs, elves and other mythological creatures. Deadline announced that Paramount Plus will be the home in streaming of this project that already has a pilot written and that, in addition, will have eight episodes in its first season. The series will be made in conjunction with the production company eOne. As is known, multiple platforms wanted to buy the distribution rights, but Paramount kept the Show after an apparently “very competitive” process.
It makes sense that the production house of the mountain and the stars would host the episodes on their platform. After all, the studio is close to releasing the film. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
In fact, it has already been anticipated that, with the arrival of the new iteration for television, what is intended is to start a shared universe based on the brand. It may even be that the film has an open ending that connects with the series, but we’ll see.
For now, there is no confirmed cast for the production, although what is known is who will direct the pilot: it is Rawson Marshall Thurber, famous for commanding Red alert (2021), the Netflix blockbuster. Thurber also wrote the episode.
