Manzana yesterday updated the firmware of the AirTag with a revised version of the one that was published last week. An update of which we are unaware of the modifications, but which certainly focus on polishing the user experience. An update that will be installed automatically without the need for any action on our part.
A firmware update focused on the details
Apple has released the fourth firmware update for the AirTags since they were introduced a few months ago. This is, in fact, a firmware revision that was released a week ago. At that time we reached version 1.0.291 whose number of build it was 1A291a. Now the review reaches the build 1A291c.
From the small change in the numbering, it is expected that this new firmware will focus on solving an error or simply improving the general functioning of the system. This update is installed automatically when our AirTags are within range of the iPhone they are paired with. The truth is that we cannot force the update in any way, but we can we can check if it has already been done. The steps are these:
- We open the app Look for on our iPhone.
- We enter the tab Objects.
- We select the AirTag that we want to check.
- We touch the name of the AirTag to see the firmware version.
It is true that object locating devices have long been available on the market. It is also true that the push and visibility that Apple has given to this class of accessories through the presentation of the AirTag is more than considerable. Some devices that we have seen in action to recover from electric scooters, through bicycles to motorcycles, all with excellent results.
