The Xbox app for Windows 10 and Windows 11 has been heavily criticized many times, starting with ourselves. Reason is not lacking: the application is slow, has an outdated design, lacks functions and works erratically. This is inexcusable for such an important application for the Windows + Xbox ecosystem.
Now, it seems that Microsoft is ready to fix its mistakes and has released the first of many updates focused on improving the application.
A good first step to modernizing the Xbox app
Insider users of the Xbox app can now try this new update, which removes the top navigation menu and replaces it with a much more modern and intuitive side menu. In addition, features have been added that help measure the performance of live games.
Microsoft makes it clear that this is the first in a series of updates coming to the Xbox app. We hope that they not only improve its aesthetics (something that was and is very necessary) but also its performance, because today it still leaves much to be desired.
And you, what do you think about this application? Have you also had a bad experience with it? What functions do you think it needs to incorporate?
