In the vast smartphone market, iOS and Android are the two leading operating systems worldwide, establishing a kind of duopoly that, to this day, seems to have no end.
For a few years now, the mobile device market was largely dominated by Android and iOS, mainly by Google’s operating system.
According to data from the IDC technology consultancy and cited by Statista, Android devices accounted for just over 84 percent of units shipped in 2020while Apple’s iOS devices accounted for the remaining 16 percent.
However, during the first quarter of 2022, the company founded by Steve Jobs earned approximately 71.6 billion dollars from the sale of iPhones worldwidethat is, around six billion more than in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Undoubtedly, we are talking about a “war” that becomes more interesting over the years and, in turn, with the arrival of new mobile devices.
And it is that the number of smartphone users continues to rise. Just In Mexico, to mention an example, in 2021, one of the years with the greatest impact due to the pandemic, there were approximately 84.4 million people with a smartphone and it is expected that the number of users of these devices will reach 95 million in 2025, this, according to data from the Statista Digital Market Insights study.

As we mentioned almost at the beginning, in the war between Google and Apple and their operating systems, it is Android that has the greatest presence in the world.
In accordance with StatCounter dataAndroid currently maintains its position as the leading mobile operating system globally, having a market share of 71 percent, while iOS represents 28 percent.
Taking a look at the graph deposited at the top, Countries like the United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, among many others, is where iOS remains the market leader.
Consequently, Android has positioned itself in Mexico, Central America, South America, a large part of Europe, among many other countries, revealing that the use of smartphones is much more relevant today.
