Ubisoft decides to withdraw the game even for its buyers.
The gaming community is speaking out after Ubisoft has decided withdraw the sale of Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD for PC via Steam. Criticisms have not been slow to appear when it has been discovered that not only has it been decided to cease its sale, but also access to the title from September 1, 2022 even for those who paid for the game.
After a first wave of multiplayer servers for titles like Avatar, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Ubisoft has now decided to shut down the servers for Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Driver San Francisco, and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, while other PC titles will no longer be able to be installed.
There are many players who criticize Ubisoft’s decision, because assumes that the company withdraws ownership of games for which numerous people have paid through digital stores. However, the company has not reassured the community with the following statement:
We do not take the decision to retire services for older Ubisoft games lightly, and our teams are currently evaluating all options available to players who will be affected when online services for these games go offline on September 1, 2019. 2022.
Ubisoft just wants to inform players
The creator of Assassin’s Creed concludes that she is also working with her partners “to update this information in all stores, so that players are fully informed about the removal of online services at the point of purchase, as well as through our support article where we share the news”.
In this way, the debate on whether the physical market should prevail over the digital market, which currently does not cease to predominate, has come to the fore again, since we all know that at the moment a physical game has never stopped working unless the disc or cartridge is damaged.
