The information surrounding the Polish company CD Projekt RED has been very intense in recent weeks, after learning that the next-gen patch for The Witcher 3 was delayed indefinitely due to a change of developer and obtain information about the company’s future projects. Now we know that the The Witcher saga has already sold 65 million unitssomething that serves to complement other recent data that confirmed the sales figures for both the third installment of the franchise starring Geralt de Rivia and the controversial Cyberpunk 2077.
As you can see in the image above shared by CD Projekt, The Witcher saga already adds 65 million copies sold among all your deliveries, 40 of which are the work of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That leaves us with 25 million units among the rest of the games in the CD Projekt franchise, more than deserving numbers for titles that never had the media coverage of the latest installment in the series. Just a few days ago we also learned that Cyberpunk 2077 was already touching the 18 million of units sold since its launch a year and a half ago. Very interesting numbers for a game that has had many problems.
Imagining what the new The Witcher will be like
The Witcher 3 had a new upturn of sales when the two seasons of Netflix’s The Witcher series premiered and will probably have it again when the next-gen patch is released soon, now at an unknown date. Meanwhile, CD Projekt is already working on the next installment of the franchise created by Andrzej Sapkowski, which will mark the beginning of a new saga, which will probably mean the goodbye of Geralt de Rivia as the protagonist.
