Last April 13 the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 has been delayed indefinitely. Many believed that it was due to complications in a chaotic development and that we may not see this said version during 2022. However, the senior vice president of business development of CD ProjectMichał Nowakowski, had an investor interview where he clarified everything.
Michał Nowakowski, mentions that during these days he has read headlines a little out of reality, headlines that state that development is being a complete hell of this next-gen update and that is the reason for the delay. Nowakowski claims that all this is false and that the task of finishing The Witcher for next-gen will simply be done in house, referring to the fact that an external studio was previously in charge.
The Witcher 3 for next-gen is not a development hell according to CD Projekt
The vice president of development also clarifies that the lack of a date is due to the fact that they are studying how long it will take to finish the work, which really isn’t too far off and about 15 developers will suffice plus a few collaborators. However, Nowakowski during the interview clarifies the fact that this update is closer than we think.
The next-gen update of The Witcher 3 It will come to Xbox Series S | X, PlayStation 5 and PC for free. No further information was revealed during the meeting but at least we know that The Witcher 3 next-gen is closer than previously speculated after the delay.
